Glencar’s strong start to 2023 continues with further project wins in the North-West

Manchester at UKREiiF Partner Glencar's Manchester Office opened in 2021 continues to go from strength to strength with an order book now totalling over £400m for the year to date across the company.

Glencar has continued its strong start to the year with the announcement of further project wins so far into 2023 through its Manchester office, with the total order book now topping over £400M for the year to date, and firmly on track for the £550m forecasted for the financial year.

In recent days, the company has confirmed that they have been appointed by leading UK Port Operator Peel Ports to construct a 240,000 sq ft warehouse at Alexandra Docks within Peel Ports’ Port of Liverpool development, located in Bootle.

The scope of works includes the design and construction of a 240,000 sq ft warehouse, referred to as Alexandra Dock Multi-User Warehouse (MUW). Works include; substantial piling, foundations, push walls, a single span warehouse frame, cladding and roof lights. Externally, surfacing and road construction for HGV access and crane loading will be undertaken.

Works are due to commence on site in April 2023 with completion in March 2024.

Other projects awarded to Glencar in the North of England during 2023 also include:

  • An instruction by Wilson Bowden Developments to build a 287,000 sq ft speculative warehouse scheme at Kingsway Business Park In Rochdale
  • The award of a contract to build a 367,000 sq ft speculative industrial/warehouse for Trammell Crow Company at a site at Shepcote, Sheffield
  • Construction of a 340,000 sq ft speculative warehouse development for Firethorn Trust at Gateway 36 in Barnsley

Prior to this, in the region Glencar has also delivered:

  • Fit out works on a 525,600 sq ft warehouse at Haydock, St Helens occupied by Kellogg Company. Works were carried out while the facility was live
  • Two speculative logistics warehouse units of 90,000 and 138,000 sq ft respectively for PLP at its Ellesmere Port scheme adjacent to Junction 8 of the M53 motorway. Both units were completed on time and on budget in April 2021
  • The construction in 27 weeks of two speculative logistics units of 92,000 and 43,000 sq ft also for PLP at its Crewe Commercial park development with both units subsequently let to Brightstar, the world’s leading provider of integrated solutions for the mobile and financial service industries
  • PLP Crewe Phase 2 - New build 456,736 sq ft (Crewe 460) logistics unit at a prime development site at Basford West in Crewe
