Novella
On the banks of the River Irwell and in the centre of the vibrant new neighbourhood of New Bailey, Novella offers 211 new homes and the opportunity of a new lifestyle to Salford’s growing population.
Designed by Hawkins\Brown, Novella offers its residents not just a new home but a lifestyle. It’s a great place to live, work and relax.
Once complete Novella will comprise two twenty-three-storey towers, linked by an angled six-storey podium. The first tower and podium block were completed in Autumn 2022 with the second tower due for completion in late 2024.
New Cross Central
Comprising of 80 family homes, New Cross Central in the Ancoats, New Cross area provides an environment which fosters community and the opportunity to feel at home in the heart of the city.
Shaped as a courtyard block, the building designed by Hawkins\Brown is defined by a cascade of private roof terraces, all of which have full views across the city.
A shared garden provides residents with a private oasis within the city, while small details around the entrances and windows reference the traditional brick colour, tone and texture seen in the New Cross and Ancoats areas.
Victoria Riverside
Victoria Riverside will be a landmark residential-led mixed-use development of 634 new homes in three sculptural tower layouts in Red Bank, one of Manchester’s emerging neighbourhoods.
Hawkins\Brown designed each home to make the most of the brilliant location, with the city stretching South and the Irk Valley to the North.
A range of different house types make up the lower-level blocks, including townhouses and duplex maisonettes on the upper levels. Also, new streets improve connectivity between the city and the River Irk.
Calico
Calico is a sensitive refurbishment of a former industrial warehouse in Manchester city centre providing 1,520 sqm of flexible workspace across five original storeys and a two-storey roof extension.
Bluefig Investments wanted Hawkins\Brown to create a new home for creative enterprise at 53-55 Mosley Street when the previous tenant’s occupancy came to an end. It needed to be flexible, offering various modes of working to support a creative and vibrant community.
