On Thursday 11 September, Manchester officially launched its presence at MIPIM 2026, bringing together public and private sector partners at Campfield, Manchester’s newest technology and creative mega campus in St. John’s, for an event focused on collaboration and the year ahead.
The launch built on the success of Manchester’s presence at MIPIM 2025, which demonstrated the strength of the city-region’s proposition on a global stage. Looking ahead, 2026 is set to be another significant year for the partnership, with Greater Manchester showcasing an integrated development pipeline and ambitious plan for growth that underline why this is such an exciting time for the city-region.
As the world’s leading property and investment event, MIPIM, which takes place in Cannes, France from 9–13 March 2026, provides Greater Manchester with a global platform to showcase its opportunities, connect with investors, and drive forward transformational change.
Speakers at the launch event included Michael Ingall CEO of Allied London, Tom Stannard, Chief Executive of Manchester City Council; Caroline Simpson, Chief Executive of Greater Manchester Combined Authority; Victoria Braddock, Managing Director of Marketing Manchester; and Nicolas Boffi, Global MIPIM Director – marking his first speaking engagements in the role.
Speaking at the launch, Tom Stannard said: “MIPIM is an event at which we work hard, and we get business done. That’s the most important thing. I can count several projects and partnerships that wouldn’t have happened if it wasn’t for MIPIM. We achieve a lot when we’re there as a partnership and long it may it continue. Through the Manchester Invest Partnership we send a really strong message to investors that we are walking together as the public and private sector.”
Caroline Simpson added, “Attending MIPIM 2026 is an important statement about Greater Manchester’s ambition. It’s about the business to be done, but also about storytelling our clear ambition and that there is a wealth of opportunity in Greater Manchester. Part of the evolution in going back to MIPIM year-on-year is by returning with common principles and a steady pipeline of development; we need to keep that momentum going and show the potential across the whole of Greater Manchester.”
Nicolas Boffi said: “MIPIM is a global platform for investment and real estate, it is certainly the largest in terms of diversity of subject and global investors. It’s important for a city like Manchester, with such a scale of projects, to target the investors that can only be found in Cannes. Manchester has reached such a position in MIPIM that you almost have a duty to be there, to show the world best practice.”
Working alongside RX Global, the partnership will bring key stakeholders across Greater Manchester to MIPIM 2026. Victoria Braddock said: “With more opportunities than ever across our region it’s important we go to MIPIM with one strong Greater Manchester voice and show the hyper-collaborative approach our region is known for first hand. Last year, you couldn’t escape Manchester at MIPIM and in 2026, we plan to go back even bigger and better than ever, but we need all of you to join us to make that happen.”
