The Manchester Invest Partnership held a launch event for Manchester @ MIPIM 2024 last night (Wednesday 6 September) as part of a new year-round proposal for Greater Manchester’s place promotion activity.
Taking place in the domed hall of Manchester’s iconic Stock Exchange Hotel, the launch was a platform for speakers Joanne Roney, Chief Executive of Manchester City Council and Eammon Boylan, Chief Executive of Greater Manchester Combined Authority, to outline the importance of MIPIM, the strength of the city-region’s public and private sector collaboration, and why now is the right time to drive Greater Manchester’s place promotion, capital investment, and real estate ambitions forward at pace.
Taking place in Cannes, France in March, MIPIM is the world’s leading property market, bringing together leading international property professionals across four-days (Tuesday 12 to Friday 15 March 2024).
MIPIM is the biggest and most prolific place promotion event that Greater Manchester attends annually, alongside three other national and international events - UKREiiF in May, LREF in September and EXPO Real in October.
In addition to launching MIPIM 2024, Wednesday’s event was also a chance to present a new proposal for partners from across Greater Manchester’s property, capital investment, and real estate industry, inviting them to sign up for packages that include attendance at several, or all four, events in Greater Manchester’s place promotion programme.
Speaking about the new year-round approach, Joanne Roney, Chief Executive of Manchester City Council, said: “We have a new proposal for our annual place promotion programme that covers four national and international real estate events – MIPIM in March, UKREiiF in May, LREF in September and EXPO Real in October.
“By taking a year-round approach to place promotion we can amplify projects at scale and create a stronger, continuous Greater Manchester narrative for global investors. Partners signing up for an annual package can benefit from a stronger working relationship with us and greater exposure, with the ability to contribute to content creation, event themes, media coverage, and digital promotions throughout the year.
“We’ve reshaped our packages to allow prospective partners to sign up to multiple place promotion events at once, whilst still allowing flexibility for those partners that only want or need to attend individual events such as MIPIM or UKREiiF.
“One of Greater Manchester’s best assets is the strength of public and private sector collaboration across the city-region and its united vision for the future, and with Greater Manchester’s success story taking a sharp upwards trajectory, now is the right time for the partnership to step up and help realise the city-region’s ambitions”.
Morgan Sindall, Avison Young, Salford City Council, and MIDAS are the first partners to join the Manchester Invest Partnership with new enhanced annual packages.
