Mike Emmerich

Founding Director, Metro Dynamics

Mike has led some of MD’s biggest projects, including using his Manchester experience to help UK cities including Birmingham, Cambridge, Glasgow and Edinburgh. Internationally he has worked with cities in Denmark, Italy, Norway and Latvia. Mike leads for MD’s work on real estate. He has led on projects with a number of development companies and investors including Peel, Select Properties and Legal & General.

Mike is an economist by profession. He is in demand as a speaker, chair, interviewer and facilitator at national and international conferences including the OECD Forum and MIPIM and for numerous clients as well as for a diverse range of organisations including Addleshaw Goddard, CBRE, the European Commission, Pro Manchester, The Greater London Assembly, OECD, and PricewaterhouseCoopers.

Melanie Leech

Chief Executive, British Property Federation

Melanie joined the British Property Federation in 2015, following nine years as Director General of the Food and Drink Federation. Her role is to represent and support a diverse, successful and sustainable real estate industry. She is also a Trustee of the property industry charity LandAid.

Prior to joining the BPF, Melanie spent nine years as Director General of the Food and Drink Federation. She began her working life as a Police Constable in the Metropolitan Police Service. She joined the civil service (HM Customs and Excise) in 1988 and subsequently held senior roles in a number of departments including the Department for Culture, Media and Sport, the Office of the Rail Regulator and the Cabinet Office. She was awarded the CBE in 2015 for services to the food and drink industry.

Jessica Middleton-Pugh

Editor, Place North West

Jessica Middleton-Pugh is a Manchester-based journalist and editor of property news publication Place North West. She has specialised in the region's regeneration sector for the entirety of her career, and has an in-depth knowledge of the issues shaping development and placemaking, based on her delivery of daily news and regular chairing of conferences in front of large audiences, handling the live questioning of developers, council leaders, front bench politicians, architects and artists alike.

Liz Hamson

Editor of Property Week, Metropolis International Group

Since Liz joined Property Week as editor in July 2014, she has restructured the team and the magazine. It is now the go-to title for the latest property news, views and in-depth analysis. As well as routinely breaking big exclusives, the team’s award-winning journalists have developed a reputation for undertaking stories you would not normally see in a trade title, such as our special investigation into dirty money and hard-hitting report on the ‘jungle’ migrant camp in Calais. Prior to Property Week, Liz spent 11 years at The Grocer, four as features editor and seven as deputy editor. She joined The Grocer from Property Week, which she joined in 1998 and left in 2003.
