New bridge lift marks a key step in multi-million pound Stockport Interchange transformation
A huge, new 90-tonne bridge connecting the Stockport Interchange development to the town’s train station has been successfully lifted into place, marking a key step in the transformative town centre scheme. Construction of the new transport interchange, which is set to support the wider regeneration of Stockport town centre, includes a new two-acre ‘podium park’ on the roof of the building and 196 high-quality residential apartments. Transforming places – Stockport’s latest office building takes shape
One of the North West’s most connected business hubs, Stockport Exchange is on track to complete the third stunning, 64,000 sq ft office building in late Summer this year. Alongside the new office will be a 399-space multi-storey car park for occupiers, which will feature charging points for electric cars and a living wall. This latest phase will further add to the popular business hub that’s been created to benefit both the town centre and the community. Stockport Exchange, a partnership between Stockport Council and Muse is now home to a wide variety of businesses from different sectors, including O’Neill Patient Solicitors, musicMagpie, Bask and its most recent addition Community Health and Eyecare (CHEC). Cranes roll into Stockport as Capital&Centric’s Weir Mill reaches a key milestone
The restoration of the historic Weir Mill site is continuing to take shape as two giant cranes appear on Stockport’s skyline. The work to preserve the iconic building will create a buzzing new neighbourhood at the heart of the town centre. Once complete in 2024, it’ll be a district oozing with personality, including 250 design-led apartments side-by-side with green outdoor hangouts, indie bars, restaurants and shops. Learn more.
