On Thursday 11 July, the Manchester Invest Partnership officially launched Manchester @ MIPIM 2025 by bringing together public and private sector partners at Aviva Studios, home of Factory International, for networking and to build excitement for the year ahead.
Attending place promotion events such as MIPIM – which will take place in Cannes, France from 11-14 March 2025 – allows Greater Manchester to be present on a global stage, connecting with investors and property professionals to drive meaningful change.
Cllr Bev Craig, Leader of Manchester City Council and Caroline Simpson, Chief Executive of Greater Manchester Combined Authority both spoke at the event, joining shortly after meeting with the new Deputy Prime Minister and Secretary of State for Housing, Communities and Local Government, Angela Rayner.
Cllr Bev Craig said: “It feels like we are in the perfect moment of alignment. This is the real moment that we can put what we’ve been working towards into practice. Manchester can be looked to as an exemplar for cities and city-regions across the UK for how to grow. We have been doing a lot of work in this city-region to make sure we are ready for this moment and as we look towards MIPIM 2025, it is important we go out as Team GM.”
Caroline Simpson added: “I think our attendance at MIPIM is Greater Manchester at its best. That strength of public-private sector partnership runs through everything we do; we speak with one voice and that is a really powerful message. The more of us that attend MIPIM, the stronger we will be.”
Several such public and private organisations have already committed to attend MIPIM 2025 with the Manchester Invest Partnership: strategic partners Greater Manchester Combined Authority, Manchester City Council; headline Invest Sponsor MIDAS Manchester's Inward Investment Agency; and Bolton Metropolitan Borough Council, Salford City Council, Maccreanor Lavington, and Wigan Metropolitan Borough Council.
The Manchester Invest Partnership is a Marketing Manchester-led project that aims to promote Greater Manchester as an active and strong voice on global issues affecting the real estate, capital investment, and property sector. Victoria Braddock, Managing Director at Marketing Manchester compèred the launch event.
Victoria Braddock said: “As anyone that has attended MIPIM, UKREiiF, or any other place promotion, capital investment, or real estate event will attest; one of Greater Manchester’s best assets is the strength of public and private sector collaboration across the city-region. We often leave peer cities trailing behind when it comes to demonstrating the power of partnership and a collective vision for the future built environment.
“With a year-round programme of events now firmly set within our place promotion calendar, and with Greater Manchester’s success continuing its upwards trajectory, it is more important than ever that we galvanise this sentiment and bring forward our ambitions as a Partnership.
