Prioritising partnerships to drive growth: Manchester to return to LREF in 2025

The Manchester Invest Partnership will once again be attending the London Real Estate Forum (LREF) in 2025 to present the region's growth ambitions and position it as a leading destination for doing business outside of the capital. The theme of this year's forum is 'Partnership' something that Greater Manchester embodies and is an exemplar of when it comes to investment, regeneration and driving economic propsperity.

Manchester is delighted to be attending the London Real Estate Forum (LREF) once again in 2025 to present itself as a leading destination to invest and do business.

With a dynamic, innovation-led economy, strong leadership, world-leading industries and acclaimed universities, Manchester is fast becoming a magnet for investors and businesses as an exciting alternative to the capital and a logical Northern base.

LREF 2025 comes at a pivotal moment in Greater Manchester’s growth journey. Having just released its growth ambition for the next decade, attending LREF will allow the region’s leaders to present a new, strategic and coordinated approach to place-based investment that could set a precedent for other regions to follow.

As a leader in English devolution, Greater Manchester is using its unique powers to pioneer a new way of delivering tens of thousands of new homes and jobs. Through a single pipeline for growth covering six nationally significant Growth Locations across all 10 boroughs, the region can now target funding and ensure development is sequenced in a way that extracts maximum value per pound.

Greater Manchester’s ambitions currently have the potential to attract £10 billion of investment and ramp up regeneration, building 75,000 new homes during this parliament as well as create innovation districts, revitalised town centres, and supporting infrastructure.

With this new dynamic approach to urban regeneration taking place across Greater Manchester, LREF is the perfect platform to connect with new partners that can help the region drive transformative change.

The theme for this year’s London Real Estate Forum is ‘Partnership’; something that has played a pivotal role in Greater Manchester’s growth story so far . The city-region has found ways of working with the private sector to create innovative funding solutions and strategic regeneration frameworks. This includes collaborative tools like Mayoral Development Corporations (MDCs), used to deliver projects like Mayfield and regenerate towns like Stockport. So far, Stockport MDC has attracted £600 million in private investment and delivered 1,200 new homes, 170,000 sq ft of Grade A office space, and a new transport interchange in one of our region’s fastest-growing and most exciting towns. This will be replicated in nationally significant projects like Atom Valley, an innovation and employment cluster centred around advanced manufacturing, and the regeneration of Old Trafford that will be made possible by input from private sector collaborators.

Manchester’s return to LREF also celebrates a partnership between two of the UK’s leading cities; London and Manchester. This shows that the two fastest-growing economies in our country can collaborate to drive social and economic prosperity, sharing ideas that can be influential in the future of placemaking. Our presence at the forum provides opportunities for new cross-regional partnerships between leaders and private sector partners.

The Manchester Invest Partnership, coordinated by Marketing Manchester, will bring a selection of delegates from the public and private sector to LREF 2025. These colleagues from Greater Manchester’s property sector come together to promote and champion the city on the world stage sharing the transformative projects, regeneration opportunities and strategies that are changing the face of the city region.

Victoria Braddock, Managing Director of Marketing Manchester the agency leading Manchester’s presence at LREF said “We’re delighted to be returning to the London Real Estate Forum in 2025. This year’s theme of partnership feels incredibly fitting; partnership is what Manchester is all about and has been essential in our region’s success story to date. Greater Manchester is renowned for working closely across Local Authorities and with the private sector to drive real, transformational change for our residents.

Greater Manchester has just announced a new regional strategy to accelerate growth over the next decade. Attending LREF will provide an unrivalled opportunity to present this alongside our development pipeline to industry leaders and private sector partners. Greater Manchester has so much untapped potential and I truly believe that attending LREF with this new strategy for growth and ready-made opportunities under our belt will help motivate like-minded partners and investors to join us on our journey at what is the start of an exciting new decade.”
