EPR Architects reveals details of latest Manchester Projects

Here are two recent Manchester projects that EPR have been involved with to show the work that they are doing across the city-region.
Alberton House, Manchester
EPR’s designs for the redevelopment of Alberton House create a stunning destination building, pioneering sustainable workspaces for a new generation.
A modern reimagination of Manchester’s Victorian cotton mills, our proposals will provide a contemporary, contextually driven design which pays tribute to the site’s industrial heritage with brick and copper materiality, creating a warehouse-inspired aesthetic. Targeting Net Zero Carbon, BREEAM and NABERS 5.5 star credentials, the scheme will feature glazing detailing to reduce solar gain as well as ambient loop heating and cooling to allow for greater efficiency and zonal control. Utilising principles from this circular economy, The Alberton will also recycle and reuse materials and furniture where possible to ensure minimal waste.
The building will embed physical and mental wellbeing into the daily working lives of its occupants - providing flexible and varied workspaces throughout, with restaurant and retail offerings on the ground floor and a distinctive rooftop design which includes a restaurant with external terraces, spa and swimming pool.
King Street Townhouse Spa, Manchester
Forming part of the iconic Manchester city-centre hotel, EPR’s design for the @kingsttownhouse Gym and Spa creates an exclusive wellness experience for both hotel guests and city-dwellers alike.
Located in a historic Grade-II listed Italian Renaissance building within the upper King Street conservation area, the newly launched basement-level spa incorporates an array of tranquil spaces and facilities, including treatment rooms, a sauna, an immune-boosting Himalayan salt cave and an uplifting lounge.
The carefully curated space touches upon all aspects of wellbeing to offer a place to unwind, recharge and fully escape from the stress of the everyday as part of the THG experience.
The interior design utilises a soothing palette and natural materials such as timber, marble and stone. Curved corridors with soft lighting evoke a calming and peaceful atmosphere, providing a sense of warmth, serenity and rest.
